Meet Our Team

I have been in dentistry for over 30 years; 25 of those years, I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Golia. When I started working with Dr. Golia, I was his chairside assistant. As I became more proficient in my abilities, I took on added responsibilities such as laboratory assistant along with supply ordering. Recently, I have evolved to the position of Treatment Coordinator. I manage Dr. Golia’s schedule and interact with all patients along with many different specialists. I also oversee and advise our current chairside assistants. This position has allowed me to use the knowledge and experience I have gained from Dr. Golia. With the knowledge I have gained, I am able to create the most personal experience for all of our wonderful patients. Dr. Golia is a doctor who practices with very high standards. His passion for outstanding dentistry, along with his dedication to teaching at Yale sets the bar high for us all.

When I’m not working I enjoy movies, theater, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

With 18 years of experience in patient care and many of those spent alongside Dr. Golia, Lisa Schachter brings warmth, friendliness, and a caring touch to every interaction at the front desk. From the moment she joined the practice, Lisa felt like part of the family—a feeling she now helps extend to each patient who walks through the door. She values the practice’s focus on taking time with patients and embracing new technology and ideas. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, and watching horror movies. Her energetic dog, Lucy, keeps life fun and unpredictable. Lisa’s favorite quote reflects her approach to life and work: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

With over 12 years of experience in dental hygiene, Deanna Dennis brings both passion and expertise to her role as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Recently joining the practice in New Haven, CT, Deanna is driven by her lifelong fascination with oral health and her commitment to patient education. She finds joy in meeting new people and helping them understand the importance of dental hygiene in overall wellness. Deanna values the innovative approaches introduced to the practice and takes pride in a team environment that is fun, supportive, and focused on providing exactly what patients need. Outside of the office, she enjoys working out, doing Pilates, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. Her favorite movie is The Notebook.

Eniko Feher is a dedicated dental assistant with five years of experience in the field, two of which have been spent at her current practice. Originally from Hungary, Eniko was drawn to dentistry due to her passion for helping others and being part of a team that focuses on patient health and well-being.

What Eniko loves most about dentistry is the ability to make patients feel confident and cared for. She enjoys building trust, alleviating concerns, and playing a role in improving both the health and happiness of those she works with. For Eniko, working with a team that shares these values is one of the most rewarding aspects of her career.

One of her favorite memories from her time at the practice is when the team came together to decorate the office Christmas tree. The event, complete with hot chocolate, festive music, and laughter, was a special reminder of the strong bond the team shares, making the workplace feel more like a family than just a place of business.

Shayla Beimler is a dedicated dental assistant at Hamden Dental Arts, where she takes pride in helping patients feel confident with their smiles. Her journey into dental assisting began when she helped out at her mother’s workplace, receiving hands-on training entirely on the job. Shayla recently joined the team and is eager to grow alongside her talented colleagues, particularly excited about the office’s expansion and Dr. Halim’s patient-centered approach. She admires the practice’s commitment to creating healthy smiles with care and passion.

Outside of work, Shayla cherishes time with her 7-year-old son, Darryl, often hiking and biking together. Known among coworkers as helpful, thoughtful, and prepared, she brings a positive energy to the team. A surprising fact about Shayla is her love for singing—music is her go-to mood booster! Guided by the quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” she approaches both her professional and personal life with enthusiasm and purpose. Whether at work or outdoors, Shayla’s joy and dedication shine through in everything she does.

Maryann, A Dedicated Dental Professional with a Passion for Life. With over 42 years in the field of dentistry, Maryann Markowski, RDH, has built a career centered on promoting health, fostering strong patient relationships, and delivering meticulous, beautiful dental work. Originally from Norwalk, CT, she now resides in Guilford, CT, where she continues to embrace her profession with enthusiasm and a commitment to comprehensive care. Guided by the philosophy that “when something is not right, it’s wrong”—a nod to Bob Dylan—Maryann approaches both her work and life with integrity and precision.

Beyond her professional achievements, Maryann is a risk-taker with a mischievous streak, always eager to take on new challenges. Outside of dentistry, she finds joy in family time, listening to her three sons’ silly antics, and sharing a good joke. Her creative side shines through in projects like restoring furniture, sewing, and baking, while biking allows her to stay active and explore the world around her. A lover of travel and cooking, Maryann balances her professional expertise with a rich personal life, embodying the values of efficiency, skill, and passion in everything she does.
